About The Book

al-Lubab fi Sharh al-Kitab is al-Allama Abd al-Ghani al-Maydani's celebrated commentary on Mukhtasar al-Quduri — the universal foundational matn of the Hanafi school. The commentary works through al-Quduri's tight prose section by section, explaining the technical vocabulary, identifying the underlying juristic principles, and supplying the contemporary clarifications that the advanced student requires. For more than a century and a half, al-Maydani's al-Lubab has been the standard teaching companion to the Quduri matn in the Damascene and broader Hanafi tradition.

About The Author

al-Allama Abd al-Ghani b. Talib al-Ghunaymi al-Maydani (1222-1298 AH / 1807-1881 CE) was a leading Damascene Hanafi master of the late nineteenth century — student of Ibn Abidin and continuator of the Damascene late-Hanafi tradition. His al-Lubab remains his most circulated work, but his glosses on multiple Hanafi texts continue to be referenced in working Hanafi scholarship.

"اللباب في شرح الكتاب" شرحُ العلامة عبد الغني الغنيمي الميداني الشهير على "مختصر القدوري" — المتنِ التأسيسي العالمي للمذهب الحنفي. يَسير الشرحُ على عبارة القدوري الكثيفة فِقْرةً فِقْرة، يَكْشِف المصطلحات التَّقْنية، ويُحَدِّد الأصول الفقهية، ويُقَدِّم البَيانات المعاصِرة التي يَحْتاجها الطالبُ المتقدّم. منذ قرنٍ ونصف واللبابُ هو الصُّحبةُ التَّعْليمية الأَولى لِمَتن القدوري في التراث الحنفي الدمشقي.

عن المؤلف

العلامة عبد الغني بن طالب الغنيمي الميداني (١٢٢٢-١٢٩٨ هـ) من كبار أئمّة الحنفية بدمشق في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر — تلميذُ ابن عابدين، ومُتابِعُ التراث الحنفي الدمشقي المتأخّر. يَبْقى اللبابُ مؤلَّفَه الأَوْسَع تَداوُلاً، لكنّ حواشيه على متونٍ حنفية متعدّدة لا تَزال تُرْجَع إليها في العمل الفقهي الحنفي.
