About The Book

Mukhtasar al-Quduri is the universal foundational matn of the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence. Composed by Imam Abu al-Husayn Ahmad al-Quduri of Baghdad in the early fifth Islamic century, the matn distills the entire ground of Hanafi fiqh — ibadat, muamalat, family law, criminal law, judicature — into a single short volume of remarkable density. al-Quduri's authority allowed him to settle in compact prose positions that had been the subject of generations of Hanafi debate, and his selections became the foundation upon which the later Hanafi commentary tradition (al-Hidaya, al-Kanz, al-Wiqaya, and the rest) was built. For more than a millennium it has been the universal first text placed in the hands of advanced Hanafi students.

About The Author

Imam Abu al-Husayn Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Quduri (362-428 AH / 973-1037 CE) was the leading Hanafi authority of Iraq in his time. The supreme codifier of the school in the late-classical period, his Mukhtasar carries his name into every Hanafi madrasa of the past thousand years.

"مختصر القدوري" المتنُ التأسيسي العالمي للمذهب الحنفي. صنّفه الإمام أبو الحسين أحمد القدوري البغدادي في أوائل القرن الخامس الهجري، يَستوعب كاملَ فقه الحنفية — العبادات والمعاملات والأنكحة والجنايات والقضاء — في كتيِّبٍ واحدٍ مُكَثَّف. أَتاحَت سلطةُ القدوري الفقهية لِحَلِّ مسائل كانت من مَوْضُوع جَدَل الحنفية أَجْيالاً في عباراتٍ مُوْجَزة، وصارت اختياراتُه الأساسَ الذي قام عليه شراحُ الحنفية اللاحقون (الهداية، والكنز، والوقاية، وغيرها). منذ أَلْف سنة وهو أوّل ما يُقَدَّم لِطالب الفقه الحنفي المتقدّم.

عن المؤلف

الإمام أبو الحسين أحمد بن محمد القدوري (٣٦٢-٤٢٨ هـ) إمامُ الحنفية بالعراق في عصره، وإمامُ تَدْوين المذهب في الطبقة الكلاسيكية المتأخّرة. حَمَل مختصرُه اسمَه إلى كلِّ مدرسةٍ حنفية في أَلْف سنةٍ مَضَت.
