About The Book

Sharh al-Sughra al-Sughra is Imam al-Sanusi's auto-commentary on al-Sughra al-Sughra — the shortest of his five catechetical texts. The matn itself, scarcely a few paragraphs long, distills the Sunni-Ashari creed to its absolute irreducible core: what every Muslim, of whatever level of learning, must believe about Allah, His Prophets, His Books, the Last Day, and the Qadar. The commentary unfolds each clause for the beginning student in the Sanusi pedagogical method.

About The Author

Imam Abu Abd Allah Muhammad b. Yusuf al-Sanusi (832-895 AH / 1427-1490 CE) was a Tlemceni Maliki scholar whose creedal works became the standard aqida curriculum of the Maliki-Ashari world.

"شرح الصغرى الصغرى" شرحُ الإمام السنوسي على متن "الصغرى الصغرى" — أَقْصَر متونه العَقَدية الخمسة. المتنُ نَفْسُه في فقراتٍ قليلة، يَخْتَصِر العقيدةَ السنّيّة الأشعريّة في حُدودها الدنيا التي لا تَنْحَلّ: ما يَجِب على كلِّ مسلم — أيّاً كانت طبقتُه العلمية — أن يَعْتَقده في الله، وأنبيائه، وكتبه، واليوم الآخر، والقَدَر. يَفُكّ الشرحُ كلَّ فِقْرة للمبتدئ بمنهج السنوسي التَّعْليمي.
